Our Story

Our story is a love story born which started out of a shared love for music in Bali, 2012.

Royce was a DJ at one of Bali's most prestigious nightclubs, Facebar and it was here where Royce as a resident DJ, drew international acclaim. During this time, Royce was introduced to an international clientele, many of whom over the years became friends and returned to Bali to travel the island to enjoy the islands many splendours and hidden gems. Many times, Royce would help his friends to experience corners of the island which were mentioned in the guide books.

The itineraries which DJ. Royce put together for his friends and clients, were what some described as "absolutely mind-blowing" experiences and it was through mutual friends when Royce met Jesse Andrews the owner of Italy Vacation Specialists who had come to the island for rest and rehabilitation after a serious health crisis.

Because of mutual contacts on the island, Jesse (a top guide and tour operator in Italy) met Royce on an excursion to the crystal clear waters fo Amed on Bali's north-east coast.

It was here where the now couple, it it off and began to discuss areas on Bali island that were largely undiscovered by tourists since Jesse's long time passion in Italy was to bring travelers to those hidden gems ,away from the crowds and still untouched by mass tourism.

Royce decided then to take Jesse on a "personal discovery tour" of the island, which included visiting Bali's central rice terraces, hidden lakes, highest waterfalls and secluded bays where they were able to swim with dolphins in the crystal clear waters.

Since Royce was originally from Bali's sister island of Java, the two ended up even travelling to Mt. Igean to experience the Blue Fire and Mt. Bromo where they caught a glimpse of the incredible sunrise.

For months, the two traveled together and experienced what was nothing short of a love affair with nature and each other. After this incredible journey, Jesse had to return home to Italy to manage the company, but had without any shadow of a doubt fallen in love with Royce and Indonesia, so she ended up staying in Bali with Royce several more months.

Maybe it was a combination of the incredible power of the sacred spiritual force in Bali or maybe it was destiny, or a shared passion for life, but as destiny would dictate, Royce and Jesse ended up getting married, starting a family and out of a great appreciation for nature and the divine, ended up creating BaliVisits.

The couple is now expecting their first child in November, 2023 and looking forward to many new adventures with intrepid travelers in Bali this year and next!
